Post by james.carrigan » Tue Jul 12, 2011 6:40 pm

Travel Documents

Please share your waiting time experiences!
UKBA website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/while ... tingtimes/) states:

70 per cent of applications within 4 weeks (20 working days); and
98 per cent within 14 weeks (70 working days)

What is your experience?

Please include:

Application timeline
Eligibility criteria: refugee status ILR (convention travel document)
Method of application: Post
Date of application: 21 May 2011
Date of receipt by UKBA: 25 May 2011
Date of debit of fees: 25 May 2011
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 01 June 2011
Date of receipt of travel document: 12 August 2011
Thanks!

Application timeline
Eligibility criteria: refugee status (convention travel document)
Method of application: Post
Date of application: 11th April
Date of receipt by UKBA: 14th April
Date of debit of fees: (postal order)

Date of receipt of travel document: Still waiting (16 week on)...2nd of August

Called UKBA...very unhelpful response 'application still being processed and I'll be contacted in due course'

no reasons have been given for delay nor can they give me any more information of what stage (if any) of process I am in..so resorting to calling every week now since the 14 week deadline has laspe and informing my solicitor who helped me with both my case travel document application

dont think there is anything else I can do.... :(

week 25 still no news...called them today and still as unhelpful as ever. No information on why it has taken 25 weeks nor any information on whether it's being looked into or sitting in a stack of unanswered post. I am going to take a proactive approach now and start a youtube channel and blog recording my weekly conversations with them. I think it's an an absolute shame the way immigrants are treated by the border agency.
