Elderly Dependent Relative

Hello folks,
I'm hoping that someone has experience and/or knowledge of this topic.
I am a EU citizen settled in the UK. My husband and I live from my husband's good German pension, which is about EUR 2500 per month.

I want to bring my mother to the UK. She lives in Guyana, SOuth America; she is now 93 years old and lives all by herself in her own home. I am her only child; she had not a single other relative in Guyana. She takes care of herself, in spite of her age.

I have two adult children in the UK; so her entire family is here.

The trouble is, I am not supporting her. She owns two houses in Guyana; she lives in one and rents the other, and lives from the rental income. I have sent her money via western uniion a few times over the last years, but I can't claim to be supporting her.

I am hoping to make the claim that she can no longer support herself because she would need a full time carer to look after her now, which she cannot afford. Do you think this would work?

She is really getting old now and I am worried she will die before we see her again. She really needs to be among her family. We will support her! I plan to move out of my owned flat and use the money to rent a house together with my daughter so we can all be together.

I also plan to apply for British Citizenship in the near future. Are my chances of getting her the visa improved if I have BC? SHould I wait for that before she applies for her visa? (I am sure to get BC; have lived here for ten years and my papers are in order.) Does BC really take six months, as they claim on their website?
