Prospective tax credits

Post by pads » Thu Jul 21, 2011 10:04 pm

Hi I have posted this up top but had no reply so sorry for posting twice.

My son is a british citizen, married to an american citizen they have a british daughter together.

My question is this His wife is applying for a spouse visa to join him in the Uk, he has been informed by the tax office that once his wife and daughter join him he will be entitled to WTC and CTC and child benefit of 100 pound a week altogether. Can this be used to meet the maintenance threshold as without it he would fall just short even though he works full time and he can't really earn anymore money.

Apologies for posting twice.

Love pads x
