Tier 1 General extension in the UK

Post by deepakbgl » Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:45 pm

Hi,
I have been in the UK for 2.3 years and my visa is up for extension in Jan2012. Can I apply for my extension right now(about 5 months in advance) or do I have to wait for the guidelined 1 month ?
Also, if I can apply now, what would the impact be on my Settlement (PR which I can apply only post 5 years of stay) . I would have finished only 4.3 years if I apply for my visa now at the end of the 2 year extension Leave to remain

You have an option to apply earlier for an extension under this catagory but would make you to apply and pay for for another extension to qualify for settlement. Better to apply close to the visa expiry.
