Timeframe before switching Dependant visa

Post by fajr » Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:30 pm

I am currently in the UK with a Tier 1 visa and my wife joined me in the UK as a Tier 1 dependant last year. However I am now applying for Indefinite leave to Remain (ILR) and realised the fact that after I get my ILR visa, I need to apply to switch my wife's visa status to being the dependant of a person settled in the UK.

My question, how much time do I will have after I get my Indefinite Leave to Remain to apply for my wife's visa for dependant of a person settled in the UK?

She should switch before her leave expires or before travelling, whichever is sooner.

in my opinion she should switch as soon as possible, do not wait until just before her visa expires, as her PBS dependent visa is not longer valid once you have ILR.
