Wrong SOC code... Help..

Post by madona587 » Wed Aug 10, 2011 1:13 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm about to make my TIER2 application (Switching from PSW)

I'm a web designer under soc code : 2131 IT strategy and planning professionals

However when my Level 1 user applied for COS by mistake they put it down as 2132 Software professional (It displays as 2132 in COS)

Now how I get UKBA to amend this ? My level1 user said he cant amend the cos details :(

Omfg  :x So pissed off..

Any help ?

Update: I spoke to PBS and they said I can withdraw the application and apply for a new COS or make a note in the Amend sponsor note.

I have 3 weeks left in my visa and I dont know if i have enough time to get a new COS. Maybe i should ask the sponsor to put a note.

This really sucks..

Well, Level1 user has now added a note to the COS saying it was a mistake from his end and mentioned the correct SOC code.

I read the guidelines and it says "This function is used when a certificate has been assigned and information within that
certificate requires editing, adding or removing. This saves having to withdraw the certificate
and create a new one."

Any experts please confirm if this is sufficient enough ?

I checked with UKBA and been told its a major error so we have to withdraw the COS. We did and requested for a increase or new COS.

Anybody know how long it takes to get a new COS ?

This really sucks for me. Talking about bad luck

Dude UKBA told us to withdraw the COS and request a new one and only minor changes can be put on Sponsor note. e.g: spelling errors. for major errors such as wrong code you have to withdraw the application and apply for a new one.

Requesting a COS wont take long but not sure how long will it take them to give us. They said it will take 2 weeks.. God knows how long !!!!

I only have 3 weeks left in my psw. Looks like I'm out of luck mate

Mate Guess what ?

I got the allocation.. woohoo

But I'm so worried about putting down the SOC code now.. Not sure if 3121 is correct for a web designer ?

Hi Madona,

Good to hear that. Let me know when you fill the application.
what are the documents we need to send with it. Is it just the
1. 6 months pay slip (or) 6 months bank statement
2. 3 months £800 bank statement
3. degree certificate
4. letter from employer
5. passport

Cheers!
