Tier1 Extension: Question regarding employment

Hello folks

My situation.

Have an extension due in a few months. But plan to do it in advance in the next 2 months.

Am currently in a permanent job, but will be leaving soon. There might be some gap before I join my next job.

Is being employed when applying for the extension mandatory for Tier1 Gen? With respect to the mandatory requirements of earnings and maintenance funds, i more than qualify.

Its just that I dont have a date when I will be joining my contract, and I was wondering if i can apply for the extension when i am not employed.

Any pointers will be a great help.
