HSBC Duplicate Statements

Post by Natedogg » Sat Aug 20, 2011 3:07 pm

Hi Everybody,

I am in the process of preparing my Tier 1 Extension and have requested personal and business statements from HSBC to prove income. They have arrived on HSBC stationary (i.e they have the logo on front and bank information on the rear) but state that they are 'duplicate'. In my view, these should be acceptable as they have been issued by HSBC on their stationary and therefore meet the policy guidance. However, the fact they say 'duplicate' has me worried that the HO may not accept them. Has anyone had any experience of this?

Thanks

From what I understand, individual branches are reluctant to sign them due to potential fraud issues.

If they look exactly the same as the original except for the word "duplicate" (ie. same paper, letterhead, contents, etc) they will be fine. I used duplicate statements for one of my application and there weren't any issues.

I agree with goldfish
From bank’s point of view, it’s a duplicate (second) copy of the original

Best of Luck

I dont think it should be any problem as HSBC statements are exactly similar to originals.

I had my partner use them to get UK visa earlier without any issues. Should be fine.
