Timeline for INIS to acknowledge new citizenship application

It is 3 weeks now since I sent by registered post a citizenship application and I haven't received any aknoledgment letter with the reference number .

Is there anyone else in the same boat ? Is it normal to take that long ?
Any clue what to do ?

yes it can take up to 6 weeks.i just got my letter this weeks almost wait 6 weeks.so be patient and pray

my solicitor sent my application on 4/07/11 that is more then 9 weeks now ,he wrote letter to Tipperary 2 weeks ago but no reply from them yet ,don't know that going on ,i am confused at this stage . :?

Got my acknowledgement after yesterday after 2 months..I sent out my application on 29/07/2011..

Same here , got mine yesterday in the post . It seems they send a bunch of them in one go , I hope they stick to the order of coming , otherwise it will be unfair .

PLZ STOP SENDING THOSE LETTERS AS THEY CREATE FURTHER BACKLOG FOR THE DEPT

ONCE THE APPLICATION IS DELIVERED IT IS DELIVERED MY BROTHERS

I rang INIS today asking about my son's reference numebr as I applied fro him 3 weeks ago and the lady on the other side tole that they have 4 weeks backlog regarding the post, that's only an information for you all.
