ILR success at Liverpool PEO - WP

Post by showmethemoney » Tue Sep 27, 2011 8:38 pm

Hi All, I am pleased to inform you that my ILR application (with dependant)at Liverpool PEO was successful. The posts and advice in this forum was very helpful. However reading some of the posts here made me extra nervous and I ended taking a pile of documents and copies that were not required!

Documents that the case worker required

Completed SET(O) form + photos
My Work Permits
Employer Letter
Salary Slips (I provided 12 months)
Bank Statements (Provided for 6 months)
Life in the UK (for me + dependent)
Passports

Photocopies of all the above document ONLY.

15 minutes into processing the application, the case worker called me to his desk and asked me show him the SOC code and job title (close to my actual) in the COP for Tier 2 workers as my employer had not mentioned this in my employer letter. Moreover to add to the confusion, my work permit mentioned a different job title and my current designation specified in the employer letter was different. At that moment, I was really glad that I went to a PEO instead of applying by post as I was able to clarify this immediately, which eventually led to a speedy decision.

I was NOT asked to provide any proof of cohabitation for my dependent, not even the marriage certificate. She has been in the UK for just over 2 years when when we applied. She was granted ILR too.

The case worker took approximately 20 minutes to process the application and grant us ILR and returned the original documents. However we had to wait till the end of the day (16.30) to collect our passports & letters.

Parking in the Capital Building car park is much cheaper than NCP and it is very close to the PEO too.

The employer letter provided to me contained the following.

Stated my first date of arrival in UK and that I have been working with the same company ever since.
Current address.
Current Designation.
Current Annual Salary. (mandatory)
Confirmation that my services in UK are required. (mandatory)

They also require that you specify the SOC code and job title so that the case worker can check if the applicant meets the salary requirement.

So I strongly suggest that you use the letter available in the following post, if your employer is willing to provide it in that format. This meets all the requirements of the UKBA and eliminates any ambiguity.

If not, then go for PEO appointment if your case is straightforward and clarify this to the case worker.
