Visa refused for ILR's dependant

Post by nm » Sat Oct 01, 2011 9:47 am

Hi,

Entry clearance has refused for my friend's spouse. My friend is a Permanent Resident here, he applied for the visa for his spouse. The visa was refused stating the degree certificate provided was not in english.
Truly, the certificate is in English only. Will it be a good to go for appeal or re-apply again.?

It's great help if any one can suggest.

In such case, appeal.

Was the application refused because the degree certificate was not in English or because there was no evidence the degree was taught in English and is equivalent to a UK degree? What does the refusal actually say?

There is not sufficient information in your post, as is often the case with these third-party questions on behalf of friends and usually there is little point in responding on that basis as everyone is merely guessing the solution to what remains an enigma.

The certificate may be in English but that's not sufficient. Your friend has to demonstrate that the degree was taught in English. There is no point appealing if the reason for the refusal is not corrected by the appeal.

Hi Greenie,

Yes. It says like below

You have applied for entry clearance to join your spouse in the UK for setflement. However you have provided your degree certificate from XXXXXXX University but no evidence that it was taught in English or that UK Naric has confirmed the degree meet the recognised standard of a UK degree.

....
....
lf you decide to appeal against the refusal of this application, th" d".iaion will be reviewed with your grounds of appeal and any supporting docurnents. You are strongly advised to submit all relevant
documents with your notice of appeal, as it may be possible to resolve the points at issue without an appeal hearing.

Please let me know what to do next?

Thanks In Advance.

For the appeal (or new application if you think it be quicker), you need to provide evidence that the degree was taught in English.
