Can Dependants on Tier 1 (general) work?

Post by ref786 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 3:28 pm

Hi There,

I hold tier 1 (General) and work for a giant IT compnay as a Consultant. I am planning to marry back home in India but someone told me to do it before it as the depandant will not be entitilled to work after April 2012 beause Ukba will introduce a rule in April 2012.

Is that correct? will such rule come into effect in April 2012?

please clear up my doubts.

Thanks,
Ref

As of now dependent can work, most likely it will continue. However, no one know his/her future, as far as new rules of UKBA are concerned.

No restriction other than "no employment as as a doctor / dentist in training".

Thanks for your prompt reply Rajesh. So that means there is no such rule has been proposed which will be implemented in april 2012 as my friend has said, isnt it?

No. Your friend is either scaremongering or is ill-informed.
