Marrying Dependent of Tier 2

Post by King_Khan » Sun Oct 09, 2011 11:31 am

Hi everyone. I've got a few questions.

If someone, who is on student visa (the old one, not tier 4), and wants to marry to someone who is on dependent visa of her father who is on tier 2;

1. Can he apply for dependent visa in this case (hence becoming dependent of a Tier 2 dependent)?

2. Her father will apply for indefinite visa in July next year after spending 5 years and so will she and her family members. Are there going to be any implications for her when she applies for indefinite visa in July next year because she will no longer be single (and may not be fully dependent on her father now in real terms)?

3. Can her husband also apply for indefinite visa along with her?

All replies are welcomed!

Thank you

No, with regard to all three questions. Furthermore, if she does marry she will become ineligible for ILR through her father and would have to find another immigration status that suits her situation.

Thanks for your reply. Now question arises, what if they get married after she gets her ILR, what will be it like in case of those 3 questions?
