Dependant Entry clearance:What supporting Docs are needed

Post by Ayomi » Tue Oct 25, 2011 12:04 pm

Good Day,
I am in the process of making an application for my spouse. he's been here on a student visa which expires in a few days and has to go back for an entry clearance after being refused an incountry application.
So far we have the following documents:

1)copies of my permit and Biodata page of my Passport;

2)Bank statement for three months as evidence of maintenance for me, my spouse and baby;

3)HMRC letter (as evidence of self-employment)

4)Contract of employment (evidence of paid employment)

5)Letter from Job centre as evidence of being on maternity leave

6)Bank statements as evidence of Payment of Maternity Allowance

7)Original Marriage Certificate;

8)Original Birth Certificate of Our Child

9)Tenancy agreement (Joint Tenancy in our names)

10)Letter from Landlord

11)Bank Statement from home country (Additional Maintenance)

12)Letter of permission from school

12)Spouse Bank Statement

13)Spouse Pay slips

14)Cover letter from me as main applicant's letter of support

15)Pictures of wedding delivery, and baby Christening

Can you please advise what other documents we need to make this application?

Thank you

Thank you for your response.
The In country application was made in May and refused in June. we relied on the Art 8 considering that i was by myself and just had a baby, but it was refused on the grounds of not coming in as a dependant. He did not have a right to appeal as he still had leave till October on his student Visa, hence this new application.
Kindly advice on any more required documentation.
Do you think the initial refusal may affect this new application?
Thank you

Don't worry at all.....i was exactly in the similar situation...my wife stayed in UK for 4 years as a student .....we applied for her dependant from in country (UK) but refused saying she should back and make an entry clearence application from Pakistan..

Today thank GOD she got her dependant visa....

there is nothing to worry about just do as told by the home office.

Woaw! Now that's a box full of documents you've got there!!

But just as I would advice anyone, please go through the policy guidance and submit the list of required documents. They are 'required documents' for a reason.

You run the risk of confusing the ECO thereby delaying your application or even resulting in a refusal if you submit too many documents in support of your application.

These ECOs are humans and they assess scores of applications daily and it is in your interest to make their task easy and straight forward by ONLY submitting documentation as stipulated in the policy guidance.

For my home country, an out of country application form is less than 10 pages long so just keep it simple.

All the best
