Tier 1 dependent visa extension

Hello Gurus
I need one clarification on tier 1 dependent visa extension.
I need to extended my tier 1(G) visa on Feb 2012 and also my childs depndents visa also needs to be extended.
during time of extension I will be in UK and my child will be in india.
my question is can my dependents visa extended from india?
or do they need to apply for fresh depndent visa
I really appreciate anwers from the forum experts and gurus

No.

Yes, if the child's current leave expires while he/she is outside UK.
