Bank letter - Mintenance fund - Query

Post by kandasamy » Wed Nov 02, 2011 4:48 pm

Hi all,

I am having an appointment at Glasgow PEO on 23-Nov-2011. I am in the process of collecting all the documents.
Today I walked to Near by HSBC branch and asked for the Balance amount certification for 3 months for showing for my maintenance fund. But the lady at front desk told me they have stopped issuing the any certificate in bank letter pad.

Please advise me how to take it forward

What about your last three months bank statements? Can you not use these?

Hi

Yes I am having the statement which was issue by the bank. I am planning to show Aug-Oct months statement, but I have missed the August month statement which I received from the bank.
Can I request the bank for the Aug 2011 month statement and can I submitted the statement for maintenance fund as proof.

From one of my friend I came to know that his case work asked for the bank statement and letter from the bank as proof for the maintenance fund.

Please let me know is it mandatory to submit the letter from bank.

Regards

The following extract from the Policy Guidance should be helpful:

170. Only the following specifi ed documents
will be accepted as evidence of this
requirement:

i) Personal bank or building society
statements covering a consecutive 90 day
period: The most recent statement must be
dated no more than one calendar month
before the date of application.

The personal bank or building society
statements should clearly show:
• the applicant’s name;
• the account number;
• the date of the statement;
• the fi nancial institution’s name and logo;
• any transactions during the 90 day
period;
• that there are enough funds present in
the account (the balance must always be at
least £800) covering the 90 day period before
the date of application;

All statements must be on the bank’s
stationery, unless the applicant is submitting
electronic statements. Ad hoc bank statements printed on the
bank’s letterhead/stationery are admissible as
evidence (this excludes mini-statements from
cash points).

If the applicant wishes to submit electronic
bank statements from an online account these
must contain all of the details listed above.
In addition, the applicant will need to provide
either:
• a supporting letter from his/her bank,
on company headed paper, confi rming the
authenticity of the statements; or
• an electronic bank statement bearing
the offi cial stamp of the bank in question will
be accepted. This stamp should appear on
every page of the statement.
