Hi can anyone advise

I got my PR last year 2010 November. I moved back to Malaysia in April and been in Malaysia since then.

I plan to return to the UK in January 2012. Can I apply for my British passport.

Will Home Office verify my passport to see how long I was absent from the Country?

To apply for British passport you need first to become a British Citizen.

To be eligible for British Citizenship the standard requirements needs to be met. Check to see if you meet them first.

No, as you'll have been absent from the UK for more than the permitted 90 days in the 12 months prior to submitting an application for BC.
The HO verify all absences.
