Travelling on Pakistani passport after acquiring BC

Post by mazhar-uk » Fri Nov 11, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi All,

I am sorry if the question has already been asked/replied.

I have just received the citizenship certificate for my 7 years old british born daugher but I am unable to apply for her British passport becuase all the required documents were sent to UKBA with the Set (M) application for my wife and two other Pakistani born children in the middle of September this year. I am expecting to receive these documents back by the end of this month.

As my wife and children want to visit Pakistan in the first week of December, I am wondering that if my daughter could travel on her Pakistani passport with a citizenship certificate (Assuming that we receive my wife's Set (M) application by the end of this month).

Any help/advise shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

Mazhar

Which documents are you referring to? For a UK born child passport application, all you need to send:
- Her valid Pakistani passport (if she has one)
- Registration certificate
- UK birth certificate (full version)
- 2 photos
- application forms.

The form and guidance I received from IPS ask to produce the current and any preveious passports. My daughter has now got her own current passport but previously she has been endorsed on her mother's passport which is currently not available.

Please confirm that I don't need to send any previous passport because that is the only document for which I am waiting for?

Thanks and Regards

Strictly speaking the guide ask you to list all passports (current and previous) but to send just current one.
This is mainly a ID security check which is less relevant for children. In any case, only current valid passport is required with the British passport application.
