HSMP -> Tier-1 -> ILR Extension Question

Post by Faded » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:47 pm

Relevant Details:

Nationality: Australian

Visa 1: HSMP
Valid From: 01/11/07
Valid To: 01/11/09
Date entered the UK: 02/11/07

Visa Extension: Tier-1 (General)
Valid From: 09/11/09
Valid To: 09/11/12

I submitted my application to extend my HSMP visa before it expired, however during this time there were horrendous Royal Mail Delays. This meant it took a number of weeks to be processed, and there is a gap between the end date of visa 1 and the start date of Visa 2.

My question is, will that gap cause an issue if I choose to extend to ILR? Or should I just extend to another Tier-1?

This "gap" you refer to is irrelevant (is not a gap) if you made an in-time valid application for leave to remain (extension).
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
