National Education Grant

Post by Tier1_ILR_Applicant » Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:30 pm

Are tier 1 migrants allowed to use the NEG (National Education Grant) which is available for children's school nursery? Will it affect the ILR application? I would really appreciate your help

NEG is not within the definition of Public Funds, as in para 6 of the Immigration Rules, so absolutely no problem claiming that.

Nothing education-related in within the definition, which explains why use of state schools is not a problem. (The only exception to that is where a child is in the UK on a Tier 4 visa, they need to attend a specified private school.)
