Tier 1 (General) Extension Query

I have a valid Tier 1 (General) Visa expiring Jan 2013. However, due to family problems, I have still not moved to UK and it looks like I won't be able to move for another 6 months.

My question is can I apply for an extension (assume I travel to UK in Nov, 2012) and apply for an Extension based on points from my Indian salary. Is an extension possible without having worked in UK for a single day?

You can apply for extension only in-country. You can use your earnings from outside of UK, however you cannot uplift your overseas salary.
