Should the exp. letter mention the word "Graduate Level

Post by surcha » Wed Jul 26, 2006 9:17 am

Hi friends,

My question is Should the exp. letter mention the word "Graduate Level"?

The reason I am asking is, is my experience letter for a company I worked in 2002 is dated as x.x.2002 and mentions my responsibilties etc. But it doesn't says it is a graduate level, and I cannot change it now. If I try to get a new letter with that word, then the letter would be dated as x.x.2006.

I am confused. But the designation is listed as graduate level under the HSMP caseworker's guidance.

Hi
It is no problem if your letter would be dated as x.x.2006.
If your letter is so clear and explain your role in detailed the graduate level is not so important.

Keep in touch :)

Well, i disagree to the above comment to some extent....i have my own experience with the Work experience letter as I was denied HSMP twice for that...your letter should somewhare state that you are doing a graduate level job or it should say that you were hired b'coz your are a graduate or when u were hired after graduation.....they are very particular about it....if you read the guidelines, you would know how much emphasis they lay on this...

Hi all,

Depend on the type of job

like if your designation is software engineer

And your degree is Batchelor of Software engineering
then thier will be no problem

Means no need for getting mentioned that he is doing graduate level job.

Becouse it is clear from the designation that it is a graduate level job.

This is not quite right. It has been a lot of eveidence in this forum have suggested that many applicants have been rejected because the letter does not mention that "it is a graduate level job". Thus, do not take it for granted mention it clearly in work experience letter.

What if the letter says "Job requires a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in engineering or science..." is that considered "graduate level"? I hope so

Hi pantaiema

ya u r right too, but just give me answer of one thing
In case of IT , employer will not right Graduate level job
becouse as i asked him, he said it is clear from the designation
that it is a graduate level job and it does not seems professional
if we right graduate level job with such designation.

In my case
Designation: Software engineer
and My degree is Bachelor of software engineering.

so if i am wrong please correct me becouse i have submitted my application with out that "It is agraduate level job",except that
my letter explain my duties fully.

I shall be very thank full to you.

In your case there is nothing you could do. You have posted your application. So just wait and see.

I understand your employers points of view.
But I think in many cases HSMP caseworker is also looking for excuse to reject the application. If it is written clearly in your letter they do not have the chance to turn your application down based on the fact that it is not a graduate level Job. But it still depends on the caseworkers please post your result in this forum we will learn it from your case.
