Any disadvantage in filing for unemployment benefit?

Post by rgutis13 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:01 pm

I have the ILR (permanent resident). I just lost my job. Can you let me know please:

1. Am I eligible to file for Unemployment benefit?

2. Filing for Unemployment benefit will affect the process of applying and getting the UK citizenship?

Thank you for your help!

You are entitled to apply for Unemployment benefit...and any other benefits which may be due to you as you're no longer subject to immigration control.
Claiming won't affect a future BC application.
