Child Benefit and Child tax Credit Backdating Question

Post by dazzy999 » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:21 pm

My 5 years completed on the 9th October 2011. So I became eligible for ILR on the 9th October 2011. But I got my ILR on the 28th November 2011 (Went personally to PEO)

I am applying for child benefit and child tax credit. I was under the impression that it would be backdated from the 9th October 2011 but after filling in the forms it seems that I shall get it only from 28th November.

Can someone confirm this please. Thanks

You will receive only from the date of your ILR. Prior to that you were still subject to immigration control, so ineligible.
