Van Der Elst Visa for Spain

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if Spain recognizes the Van der Elst visa. I currently have a work permit for the UK and I have been working for the same UK company for 14 months. The company has an office in Spain and I have been offered a secondment there for 6 months. Can I apply for a Van der Elst visa for this or do I need to apply for a Spanish work permit and residence permit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your company not going to sort out the required visas?
