tier 1 extension - date of entry clearance(immigration hist)

Post by params0073 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 9:41 pm

Hi,
I applied my tier 1 general on 30-03-2009 and got my visa stamp valid from 15-04-2009 (visa valid date) as the rule changed from 31-03-2009 .Now i am applying for tier 1 extension next month(feb 2012) ,my question/doubt is:-

what should i specify in D3 :- i.e
D3. What date was the entry clearance or visa issued ?

should it be 30-03-2009 or 15-04-2009 ?

Yes ,Its 15-04-2009 on my entry clearance . But if i mention 15-04-2009 would i be able to get 30 point for Bachelor degree? As the rule changed on 31-04-2009.
So i am still confused what should i mention the date ?

It’s only for the people who got visa on or after 31-04-2009. If you got 30 points for Bachelor degree in your first grant, you will still get 30 points at the time of your extension and ILR.

This is a little bit tricky and I would suggest you take some professional advice too.

As a general rule, you are entitled to the same points as you have claimed in previous application (first grant of HSMP or Tier-1)

I am not a senior member but i would say you should write 30/3. if you are not sure, open point based calculator and when it asks for first application date, click on help which opens a new window. That help will answer your question

Thanks for the reply. Its give me enough point when i use 30/3/2009 but not enough when i put 15-4-2009.So i guess i should put 30/03/2009.
If any senior want to comment on this, would be a great help.

Hi Mate,
I mentioned 30/03/2009 in my application and all went fine(applied with tis date for tier 1 extension and got the approval letter). So you should mention 19th May 2010 .

Hi,

Can you please help me with the extension query here.

I have applied for Tier 1 application on 23rd of Feb 2009 and visa granted from 26th of April 2009... so what I can make out from here is I should mention 23rd Feb as my date of application, am i right?
Another question is my visa is going to expire on 26th of April this year, can I apply now for the extension, I also have a dependent application( Spouse) along with me.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Cheers,
Sudhir

Hi Params,

Thank you so much for the replay.

i have one more question for you..

As per the visa application email alert got from Chennai.. on date of application is HDAC/190510/0000XX Should i fill this number for below question ?

D4. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant’s passport or travel document.

one more Q i have in mind is. do they have a record of all these details in their database.. ( because i don't have any proof to support my application made date..i mean i don't have reciept )

Thanks in Advance.

D4. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant’s passport or travel document.

This the number on the right hand side of the visa page in RED colour.

2.Hopefully yes. They have all the details in the database so they will pull out the details when you submit your application for extension.

Guys -

I may be wrong... I dont mind people confusing themselves, But iam not sure why people go beyond them and confuse others :)

PBS clearly states that - Enter the date of your first successful Tier 1 application.
is nothing but the
Date of application (the date that the fee associated with the application was paid. This means the date shown on your payment receipt, which depends on how you paid for your visa application, for example, at a British Diplomatic Post, visa application centre or online.)

How do people confuse this with visa start date and where in PBS does it ask for Visa start date ??

What date was the entry clearance or visa issued ?
So ideally, This should technically be your visa start date (valid from date) that you can pick up your visa stamping in your passport.

Dont confuse yourself. All you have to worry about is the evidences that you submit to support ur claims (like salary, NI, etc etc)
