Is that right? Job advertising.

Post by sweetpea35 » Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:19 pm

My future employer hired a work permit agency to manage the permit process. They advertised the job online for 1 week only, and said that the rules for advertising a job are that it only have to be up for 1 week, but open for 4 weeks total.

Is that correct? Seems strange that the job only has to be up for 1 week.

My understanding is that if the advert is put on-line then the requirement is for one week only while in print media the requirement is for four weeks.

the advertisement need to run only for one week. but applications should be accepted for 4 weeks before the company can file for a Work Permit.

My experience

My original WP application was reject because HO said I couldn't prove that the advert was advertised for 2 weeks as we did on www.reed.co.uk In there letter they said they wanted a screenshot for everyday the advert was online?!? In the end I managed to get a letter out of reed where they confirmed that the add was on there site for 2 weeks which HO accepted.
