I'm in a dilemma if to apply in person with overseas earning

I'm considering to apply in person for extension. my visa will expire in June (I beleive that within 3 months I will have sufficient UK earnings) .
so it is an early extension (which I believe I won't have right to appeal).

The problem is that I have overseas earnings from salaried employment, with overlapping 1-2 months getting salary from UK and overseas employer.

I have heard many stories in this forum about people who used same day service and they didn't decision in the same day (and even lasted for weeks/months).

I wonder if the chances are really high that they won't make the decision in the same day and I need my passport.

Any suggestions?
