Second Tier1 Visa Extension required ??

Post by sanil_57 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 2:27 pm

Hi ,

I got my UK HSMP visa in Apr2008.
But I came to UK in the month of Aug 2008(ie 4 months after the Visa date)

I got my Visa extended in Apr 2010 and now my Tier1 Genera Visa is valid till Apr 2013(Total 5 yrs)

Since I came 4 months late to Uk from the Initial Visa start date(Apr'08) , do I need to again get my Tier 1 visa extended for the second time or else can I go for the Settlement Application .

Please guide me .

Thanks in advance .

Warm Regards

Anil

Exerpts from the guidance on ILR:

Applications that fall short of the five year continuous period:

In some cases, applicants may have been granted 5 years continuous leave, but will not have spent 5 years continuously in the UK before their current leave expires. Caseworkers may count the period between entry clearance being granted and the date the applicant entered the UK towards the 5 years, provided this period was not longer than 3 months.
