How to get previous visa application copy or filled details

Hi,

My wife's father birthdate is not available so she has applied with some approximate date while applying visitor visa sometime back(this is refused because docs were photostat copies).
Now she is applying for Tier 1 Dependent , but not remembered what she has filled for her father's birthdate earlier.

Can anybody please suggest how to deal with such kind of situation. Can we mention that we didnt remember teh approximate date.
Is there anyway to get the previously filled details in the application, the previous application was in India VFS center.

There is something called a Subject Access Report(SAR) which you can request UK BA for. It should provide you all information about you maintained by them, including past applications. They take upto 40 days to provide the information on payment of a fee.

Search the UK BA site and this forum for details on how to apply.

is the field mandatory? you can keep it blank if not sure.

I believe that field is mandatory when you apply the first time.

SAR is available in India High commission?
Yes. the field is mandatory with the online system, as its not allowing anything except ddmmmyyyy format including blank.

I have asked one solicitor, he suggested to write an approximate date and mention that the DOB is not available/not remembered in Additional Info Section.

Will this be OK? Please suggest
