Tier 1 (General) - invite mother as dependant

Post by bhavinjbhatt » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:38 pm

Hi All,

I am under Tier 1 General valid for another two years.
I am working for a reputed firm and earning a decent salary.
I want to bring my mother(widow) to the UK as my dependent.
The only issue is that she is in india and doesnt work, doesnt have property in her name nor does she have a big bank balance. and yeah she is not 60 yet.

Please advice on how i can bring her here.

eagerly waiting for advice.

regards
bhavin

Not possible. For your mother to qualify for settlement, you, yourself, would need to be a settled resident of the UK rather than PBS migrant. Additionally, she would need to meet the other requirements set out in the rules, with regard to age, dependence, lack of other relatives in her location, etc.

The only option you have is to get her a visitor visa and then she can come to the UK but only for a max of 6 months.
