Post by kmyousafzai » Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:09 am

Hi guys!

I am on high skill visas from the last year however my Accountant was
Association of Certified Public Accountants.

However i seem notice on Tier1 General Policy guideline.

According to these documents

112. Where an applicant is providing evidence from an accountant or accountancy firm the account must be either a fully qualified chartered accountant or a certified accountant who is a member of a registered body.

Question:

What’s the difference between

Certified accountant and Certified Public accountant?

Please share the knowledge

Thank you

They are completely different accountancy bodies.

Certified accountant will mean a member of the ACCA - which is a recognised supervisory body (by the UKBA).

Certified public accountant I'm assuming is a member of the ACPA which isn't.
