soon new rule will get place in uk :(
http://www.thehindu.com/news/internatio ... 843119.ece
when i read the news paper i got worried
what about:
eea and thier family ?? do you think the eea route will be included ???
(The family would be expected to show a household annual income of £26,000)

Tougher controls will mean that foreign spouses of British citizens would have to prove that they would be able to support themselves and not end up relying on state benefits.....

Why would they be affected? If they are workers, they would not qualify for benefits, nor if they were students or self-sufficient?

It is not correct that an Eea national exercising treaty rights as a worker, self sufficient person or student is not entitled to benefits. However, to the op the proposed changes to the immigration rules -which are currently only proposals - would only effect applications under the immigration rules and not under the Eea regulations.

sorry - you have still lost me with the 15k/17k post. In any event, the changes are not at all relevent to EEA applications.

I do hope that when these changes will be implemented, the 2006 EU regulations will be amended to include the Zambrano ruling. It is way overdue :!:
