Hi Sharmishtha

I recently bought a house, being on Tier 2 Visa
Halifax are quite happy giving a mortgage if you have atleast 2 years on your visa remaining. I know of a broker, but I'd suggest you try Halifax first before paying fees to a broker. Any information you need about house buying/mortgages, give me a shout!

Hi Sheffield_Marketeer,

Appreciate your reply . But just a question of how much you gave as a deposit . Is it 10 % or 15% or 20% or more ?

I asked NWB , they are ready to give mortgage with minimum of 20% deposit and which I can't afford it .

Regards,
Sharmistha

Hi Sharmishtha

We got a deal with our builder (new build) for a shared equity scheme- we paid 5% and builder gave us 20% equity loan. So a deposit of 25% and then 75% on mortgage.
I am sure you won't have a problem if you had a 10% deposit also. Why don't you drop in at Halifax and ask them. I went to them initially for a chat and they said they were happy to give it to us with a 10% too.

Hi Sheffield_Marketeer,

Sorry to post on this old post. I am also on Tier 2 and interested in Shared home/Flat. I have few questions regarding Mortgage.

>> How many years minimum visa needs remain?
>> How many year's address proof required?
>> Andy document checklist?

Thanks
Niels
