Renewal of Tier 2 Visa

Hello,

I first renewed my sponsorship to a Tier 2 Visa two years ago. I now have to renew it for another year before I will be allowed to apply for ILR.

I already registered my biometric information two years ago.

I was reading something on the UKBA website about being able to extend Tier 2 visas for longer with no cost, but was unclear about this?

Does anyone know anything about this? Or do I use the regular Tier 2 application?

Also, will I have to redo my biometric information since I have already done it two years ago?

Finally, when I renewed received the Tier 2 two years ago, I applied under the transitional arrangements since my first visa was a work permit visa and didn't need to have the maintenance fund. Does this still mean that I do not need to worry about the maintenance funds part???
