SET(M) ILR & Divorce

Post by unfair » Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:20 am

Hello Board,

This might sound like a silly question but I would very much appreciate your help.
If your ILR was obtained via SET (M) and you get divorced, can you still apply for citizenship?

Cheers

Yes, but if the divorce is finalized you then revert to the standard residence requirements and need to have been resident for five years (and held ILR for 12 months) rather than three (with ILR for any length of time).
