Country of current legal residence??

Post by aspeechley » Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:44 pm

I'm an Australian citizen but currently working in the UK on a working holiday visa. One of the questions on the HSMP application form asks for 'Country of Current Legal Residence'? Do I put Australia or UK? I know it probably seems like a simple question but I've asked several people already and can't get a straight answer.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please, know that in your case, the "country of legal residence" is Australia. You are not a British Citizen. So claim yopur country of Origin. I know this is very simple.

The above information is confusing.

We should diffrrentiate between "residence" and "Citizenship".

Becasue 'aspeechley' s/he is currently resding legally in the UK
s/he is UK resident.
S/he is not currently living in Australia

It's where you are currently legally residing NOT your citizenship. In your case, it will be the UK.

residence is where you're residing legally which means on a visa or anything (of course not visiting), not citizen of.

It will be UK in this case.
