Tier 1 extention with dep - Salary (share option) question

Post by vignezh007 » Tue Mar 06, 2012 2:24 pm

Hi All

I found this forum very useful for various questions and doubts. I have a confusion regarding my Tier1 extension.

I got my initial Tier 1 in May 2009 and due for an extension end of April 2012. I want to apply by middle of March as it currently takes around 2 months to process.

I am working at the same company for the last 4 years. When this company was bought by another company I got some money through share options and the latest amount was for about £4000 in March 2011. This amount is declared on the payslip and i have paid tax and NI for the same.

For the extension, i wanted to show my earnings from March 2011 to Feb 2012, but I was paid around £4000 through shares in March 2011. Do i have to get additional document to prove this is a genuine payment or should i just show earnings from April 2011 to Feb 12. (11 months) i have just enough points required to meet the criteria through my salary?

I just dont want to confuse the CW by showing income other than salary as otherwise my application is straightforward. what do you think?

** Personal opinion: - Avoid the share option. Keep the application simple as you are able to qualify using 11 months earnings.

I thought the same. But I have been paid around £150 and £200 as share options on two separate occasions in the last 12 months which is also clearly mentioned on the payslip. Do I have to get additional proof for this?

You could get a letter from your employer explaining the same.

hi.. do you mean include the employer letter for the two small payments and exclude April 2011? Or get the employer letter for all the share option payments and include April 2011?
