Dependent to Tier 2??

I am in the UK on a Tier 1 dependent visa (my husband is here on post study work visa). Our visas are due to expire on 15 Sept 2012. I have secured a job in a leading multinational company where my salary is approx. 23000 GBP. I will be completing 6 mnths in this company on 5 Sept 2012. Is there any way I can apply for Tier 2 visa without going thru the sponsorship letter route? My company is ready to provide me with a letter confirming my employment details but might not give me a sponsorship letter. Please help. Thanks

Besides the fact that it's not a sponsorship letter, but a 'Certificate of Sponsorship', no, there is no way to apply for tier 2 without being issued a Certificate of Sponsorship by an employer on UKBA's list of tier 2 sponsors.

You also need to apply from outside the UK, you cannot switch from tier 1 dependent to tier 2 migrant from within the UK.
