HSMP Attempt

Hi,

I have been visiting the forum since a few days and think it's quite a helpful resource.

I am planning to apply for the Over 28 category and need some piece of advise from fellow members and mods.

My application base.

1. Education - 15 points

2. Work Experience - 25 points

3. Past Earnings - 25 points


For Education

I have a degree from University of Houston.
Evidence I plan to provide
a) Attested copy of my degree from US Embassy in UAE.

Would I get 25 points based on the above documents ?


For Work Experience
I have worked for a large IT company here for more than 8 years
Evidence I plan to provide
a) Original Employee letter stating salary and date of joining (Salary Certificate).
b) PhotoCopy of Job Description ( can't get original)

Would I get 25 points based on the above documents ?


For Past Earnings
The total earning for the past 12 mohtns is more than 40K UK Pound (1Pound = 7 UAE Dirhams)
Evidence I plan to submit
a) 12 months Wageslips
b) Salary Statement from Employer (On company letter head)
c) Bank Statement (of Salary Account) for past 12 months.

Would I get 25 points based on the above documents ?

You will have to send the original degree with the HSMP application (attested copy from US Embassy in UAE will not do). Whether you will score points can be ascertained by applying for a letter of comparability from NARIC (http://www.naric.org.uk). It costs about GBP 30-35.

PhotoCopy of Job Description (can't get original)

Sorry, but photocopies are no good for HSMP application. Every document needs to be original. Specially this one !!

For Past Earnings, evidence I plan to submit

c) Bank Statement (of Salary Account) for past 12 months.

This will work fine !!

From everything I've read, the work experience part is the hardest thing to prove, and what most people get disqualified on. Read all of the stickies up top, there's a lot on this there.

Can you get a letter from your boss listing your job duties? If you write it yourself, it's no work on their part. Even someone senior to yourself that isn't your direct boss is better than no letter.

your past earnings is good, is you wage slips in the company official paper?

This copy is actual certifitied as below

1. From the notary in the State of Texas, then
2. The US Consulate in Washington DC, then
3. Then the UAE embassy in US, then
4. And finally the US embassy in UAE.
(I spent a lot of time on getting that done, I was hoping this to suffice.)

For the letter I think I have to try to get one signed by my manager. (Hopefully) on a company letter head.

These are the wageslips I receive from the company. It has the company logo and

-My salary details
-My bank account details (where it's sent to)

It's not a colourful page but it does have the company logo on it.

Could you explain HSMP why you cant send them originals?

I have had a bad experience once in sending my original degree. I lost it and had to request for a reprint from the university.

It's a worse experience to spend 315 GBP on the application and then have it rejected because your documents aren't originals, right?

The best way is to wait for receiving originals document and apply with originals
