How -to Notify Change of Address after receiving BRP card

Post by pegakrishna » Tue Mar 13, 2012 11:25 am

Hi All,

I have received BRP card registered with current living address. If I make a move to another address.

Do I need to inform BRP team to update the current living address ??

If so, what is the guidelines which needs to be followed ??

I'm sure, many people will have same question in their minds too. It will be helpful for those.

Kindly, looking forward all your valuable inputs.

Thanks.

How do you know? The card might be registered with current address even though it is not mentioned in the card's body.

According to UKBA website, you must notify change of address (after you receive the BRP) if you think you will be staying at the new address for more than 6 months. You must noticy by writing to UK Border Agency, Change of Address Team, 11th Floor Lunar House
Wellesley Road, Croydon, CR9 2BY or by Fax to 020 8196 5454

i got the above info for this link... http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ilities/#

Check the UKBA website. you need to inform by fax or letter, the change of address if you are about to stay in the new address for more than 6 months...

I would be curious to know the answer as well. Though address is not mentioned in the card, guidance letter provided with BRP does mention that we need to notify change in the current address.

Any one who's done this before ?

This is a copy paste from UKBAs website regarding the query

What should you do if you change your address, your circumstances or your education provider? Close

If you change your address before you have received your biometric residence permit, you must tell us immediately by phoning 0870 606 7766.

If you change your address at any time after you have received your biometric residence permit, and you think you are likely to be at the new address for at least 6 months, you should tell us by sending a fax to 020 8196 5454 or by writing to:

UK Border Agency
Change of Address Team
11th Floor Lunar House
Wellesley Road
Croydon
CR9 2BY

You must tell us immediately by phoning 0870 606 7766 if:

* you change your circumstances so you no longer qualify to stay under the Immigration Rules that were in place when we gave you permission to stay in the UK; or
* you are a student and you change your course and/or education provider (sponsor).

Appears to be a copy paste error, rather than a rights issue
