Preferred Special delivery envelope

Post by chim30 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 2:04 pm

Hi,

I believe most of them preferred to send the Tier 1 (G) application form with the necessary documents by Special Delivery. In my case, all the documents (mine and dependents) would go about 1 KG, I think. I have seen few special delivery envelopes in Royalmail website, but can anyone suggest which one is preferred one?

Are you guys folding the documents while sending?

Thanks

Mine was the same as yours, around 0.947 kgs. I bought the padded envelopes from Staples. they sell for about £7.99 for a pack of 10. They seem strong enought. I also put tapes on both ends (top and bottom) just in case.

I dont think anyone will fold their documents. I bought the padded envelope just for this purpose. once you have your documents in the envelope, take it to the post office, they will put a special deliver sticker on it. you should be fine not using post office stationary.

Thanks for your reply. Did you include the special delivery envelop to return back your documents as well?

Bubble Wrap envelopes

and plastic jackets are what most people use

Put your documents first in a plastic jacket and then put this in a bubble wrap envelope.

You can find both in a Pound/99 P shop :P

for return of docs it's best to by the silver special delivery envelopes from the post office - they are not bubble wrap but they are made out of a strong plastic but you can fold them up to put them inside the envelope you are sending to UKBA. Hope this make sense.

For that matter, I had included a bubble wrap envelope (with special delivery stamp) within the bubble wrap envelope that I used to send all the documents. I had folded it..

I am sure that works too. Now shall we have a long and prolonged debate about which is the best option? Perhaps a poll? ;-)

I am kidding too. There is no correct or incorrect envelope in which to send or recieve documents from the UKBA.

P.S. I am only right when I am not wrong

put all the related documents in separate plastic sleeves, like bank statements in 1, payslips in another etc & label all the sleeves.

Put a return special delivery padded envelope (folded of course in the main envelope for sending application) that can take the weight of application & note the tracking number
