Do we also need to submit any copies along with the originals.

No need to send any copies unless you want to pay double the postage

I didnt send any copies at all. You can keep a copy of the application form or any other doc with yourself for your own reference so you know what you filled in

If you are applying in person, I say carry a set of copy with you. It does make CW's life easier and they do seem to like it. Not that it may impact the decision in either way :)

Does UKBA allow sending duplicates and copies only? Answer that and you'd get your answer.

If you are applying by post, why would you send copies? UKBA are really specific about original documents only and if they open the envelope to find copies, there's potential hassle right there. Even if the original documents are also included, you make it more complex for them.
