Child benefit - son not born the UK

Post by Keyrun » Sat Mar 17, 2012 7:50 am

Hi,

I have recently got my ILR and was told by my friends that I can claim child benefits. Is that right.

Also, my son is not born in the UK. If I can claim child benefits; would he be eligible to get the benefit?

Thanks, Kiran

Thanks Lucapooka for clearing up the confusion as I was thinking even UK settled parents of non UK born children with ' no recourse to public funds ' restriction can't claim CB.

Is it possibe for a person with ILR to claim child tax credit for a child not born in UK but got dependent visa with the words "join the father" and "no recourse to public fund? Can anyone help, thank you an advance.
