Tier 4 (PHD)

Hi there,

I am currently on PSW and planning to stay in the UK. My first option is tier 2 if not i am planing to continue my PHD, which i must apply under tier 4. My phd will be in stage 2 health psychology, which is slightly different as i need to be in training in a job while doing my studies ( my current job is suitable for that), how will this be ? as i only will be allowed 20 hours to work under student visa- which my phd involves research while on training. Will my uni need to write a letter to let UKBA know regarding the more hours or will i need to my extra hours voluntary ?

any other options?

Secondly, can i apply in the country from PSW to tier 1 and my partner from tier 1 to tier 1 (dependent) or we both need to apply from home country?
