New Born Baby HELP

Post by HSMPSEQUENCE » Mon Mar 19, 2012 2:01 pm

Dear All,

I have Tier 1 General Visa and My wife has Tier 1 general Dependant status (ILR = 2013) ,
We were blessed with a baby girl in November 2011, we obtained a passport for our daughter from the Pakistan High Commission and are about to apply for the Tier 1 General Dependant visa for our baby.

My Question is related to the Maintenance funds. We are a family of three ( myself, Mrs and the baby), I am confused as to how much maintenance funds we require, is this

£800+£533 OR

800+533+533

I have kept £1500 in my accounts for last 4 months consdering that we only needed £800+533 until today as my wife is already a Tier1 General dependant. would this be enough or we actualy required more i.e £ £800+£533+£533 ?

Please reply. Thanks in advance

Best Wishes,
S

First of all - "We are Blessed with baby" :)

Secondly you need £800+£533+£533 for your visa purposes

If all 3 are applying together you need £800+£533+£533

If you only need to apply for your kid, you need £533 (to be on the safer side, you could choose to have £800+£533+£533 but this is not mandatory)

You do not need second opinion here. Those are unfortunately the rules. You can use multiple accounts if that helps or even an overseas account under either one of your name.

Yes, like said, it can be multiple accounts that you can use. You might want to submit the marriage certificate to prove your subsisting relationship in order to use your wife's bank account to show the maintenance funds. This is normally not required but it would be wise since you are the main applicant and you are using your wife's bank account to support the child.

Good Luck

I'm mobile and about to go to bed too. The sticky was posted in 2010 and is almost 2 years old. I'm not saying its wrong or has changed since but from what I read it appears that you do need £800+£533+£533. Wait till you hear from someone else.

Hi,

I had the same confusion and in my opinion (could be a fact) you need to show 800+533+533 in though you are applying only for your child T1G-Depedent visa.

As per the new guidance version 02/2012, page 10, paragraph 46 clearly states the money needed for showing maintenance fund.

"If a family member applies separately from the Tier 1 Migrant, there must still be enough funds to support each member of the family."

I had the same query posted below.

Good luck
