No NI number on payslips

My previous employer didn't put NI number on any of my payslips.

Any idea if that is or has been a problem?

It is not mandatory to have the NI number printed on Payslips. This will have no adverse effects on your application.

And as confirmed in the link Manka10 provided, you can see the NI number is optional for Employer to include in your payslip.
