Query Indian Passport re-issue

Hi,
My current Indian passport expires on 28 Jun 2012.
I've to travel to India on 1 Jun and would be returning to UK on 17 Jun 2012.

1) Would there be any problem at the port of entry while returning from India if my passport expires within 10 days from that date.

2) Is it better to apply for extension asap.
I would like to add my spouse name and change my indian address in my
new passport application.
So, I would like to know if I can get that within 6 weeks.
For Indian address proof, can I take a print out of the HDFC a/c statement received via e-mail or should I need to get a stamped statement from the bank in India.

If you renew at HCI London, they generally process your application within a couple of weeks.
Printed statement should be OK.
They will ask you to self attest all documents you submit.
