Long Residency help

Post by kevin43 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 5:36 pm

Hello Everyone,

I have just recieved my SAR report. I am worried about my first extension back in 2004. My visa expirary was 31/01/2004. I made an application on 27/01/2004 But it returned as invalid due to bank payment rejection. I got the documents back on 12/02/2004. I posted it on same day and my visa granted on 19/02/2004 as per SAR report. So, I just want to know if it breaks my contionus stay or I have overstayed until 19/02/2004. Does this affect my application or not???
Thanks

What was your category at that time?

You should be ok. At that time, an application rejected for non-payment was not automatically declared invalid and a subsequent application within 28 days was considered a continuation of the first application. Can't remember where the rules are, but before 2007 is ok. There should be links on some old posts in this forum.

Thanks for who replied. It was a big reilef. I just found out that during 2005 My visa was to expire on 31st of May which was bank holiday. Studpidly I posted an application on 1st of June. So, My application was out of time by 2 days as per SAR Report. can I argue with HO as it was bank holiday on 31st May 2005 and i posted on 1st June using next day delivery. I was on international student visa. I think rogerdoger posted on the same day and was out of time. Thanks

A single gap of less than 10 days should be ok.
