Online Bank Statement Print for proof of maintenance

Post by Palmist » Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:11 pm

Hi Guys,

I have an online web saver account which doesn't do statements. I have printed a statement online which is just a page of all the transaction since I had the account. There aren't many transactions in it as it is just a savings account. I have been to Halifax and got them to stamp it.

Do you think that should be enough ?

thanks again

Does the statement include the bank's logo, your name, account number and sort code?

Halifax gave me a signed letter on headed paper which clearly mentioned I had more than the required funds for last 3 months with my name, account number, address on it

if u can get that letter, ukba will probably skip the statement

Manka, I asked but they said that they don't do letter headed paper. How long did it took them to do this for you.

I did have to go to another branch in cheltenham as gloucester refused, they gave it to me while I waited in the branch

be assertive & firm & ask to speak to the branch manager if staff refuse, if no joy then go to another branch

I don't know of your whereabouts, but i went to Ilford high street branch and after struggle and arguements for 2 days, a middle aged+ man called "Poo" did it for me on A4 paper with bank logo.

I will give it a go tomorrow, I wanted to send my application tomorrow as the cost is increasing next week from £1000 to £1500

Hi palmist.

I have the same websaver account and I have always used the online statement stamped by the branch without having any problem with ukba. My last transaction was almost a year ago when I sent it for visa. All i did was to explain in the covering letter that Its an online saving account and the printout has been stamped by the bank to confirm its authenticity. This is covered in the guidance.

Thanks Shahjee, I am going to do the same tomorrow. I have been to two branches today and they refused to give me a letter. I guess I will have to send the stamped online printout. Your post gives me confidence in doing so.

Ideally I would like to send an official statement, but it would take them a week to send me one and cost will be increasing next week.
